Gepan® instill

Gepan® instill is applied for the treatment of chronic forms of cystitis, e.g. interstitial cystitis, certain forms of overactive bladder, radiation cystitis and chronically-recurring cystitis. These diseases are often associated with a damage of the glycosaminoglycan-layer of the bladder. Here a therapy with Gepan® instill can improve symptoms and quality of life of patients.
These facts are also shown in a current PMS (post marketing surveillance study) examining the impact of Gepan® instill in patients with above mentioned diseases. The patients came from Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Denmark and Sweden. It is the largest PMS regarding GAG-replenishment. All patients were treated with Gepan® instill for a period of three months.
The treatment resulted in an impressive decrease of symptoms in all four groups. More than 80% of patients and physicians rated the treatment with Gepan® instill positively. Especially remarkable was the improvement of urgency (50%). Also micturition frequency decreased considerably. Many patients reported an improvement of their symptoms after the first instillation. However this is always dependant on individual condition. From experience symptoms improve continuously in the course of time.
